Main functions of proximity sensors

1. Distance testing
Detecting the stopping, starting, and position of elevator and lifting equipment; detecting vehicle’s position to prevent two objects from colliding; detecting the setting position of working machinery, moving machine or parts’ limit position; detecting the stopping position of rotary body, the opening or closing position of a valve.
2. Dimension control
Dimension control device is for metal plate punching and shearing; automatically selecting and identifying of the length of metal parts; detecting the height of stacks during automatic loading and unloading; detecting the length, width, height and volume of items.
3. Detecting the presence of objects; detecting the presence of product packaging on the production and packaging line; detecting the presence of product parts.
4. Revolving speed and speed control
Controlling the speed of the conveyor belt; controlling the rotational speed of the rotating machinery; and controlling the speed and number of revolutions together with various pulse generators.
5. Counting and controlling
Measuring the number of products flowing through the production line; measuring the rotation number of the high-speed rotary shaft or disk; counting the parts.
6. Testing of anomalies
Detecting whether the bottle cap is available; judging whether the product is qualified or not; detecting whether the metal products in the packaging box are short of or not; distinguishing metal and non-metallic parts; detecting whether the product has a brand or not; detecting the warning of the danger area of the crane; detecting the automatic starting and stopping of safety escalators.
7. Metering control
Automatically metering products or parts; detecting the pointer range of the meter and controlling number or flow rate; detecting buoys, and controlling surface height and flow rate; detecting iron buoys in stainless steel drums; controlling the upper or lower limits of the meter range; controlling the flow and horizontal plane.
8. Identification of objects
Identifying objects according to the code of the carrier.
9 Information transmission
ASI (bus) connects sensors in each position on the production line (50-100 meters) and transmit the data back and forth.
